This new three-story office building with full basement is located in the Wyoming Valley’s urban core. As such, a number of zoning variances were granted by the municipality in recognition of the fact that modern office building needs are often poorly accommodated by older infrastructures. The building is located along a major thoroughfare, and uses a mix of traditional and contemporary design elements to develop a quietly progressive appearance which is nevertheless well suited to its older urban context.
The project received an Honor Award for design from the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 2001.
